Not This Time

​Canada becoming the 51st state of the United States is about as likely as a moose trading its antlers for a cowboy hat—entertaining to imagine, but utterly implausible.
Despite recent musings from certain quarters south of the border, Canadians have met these suggestions with a blend of politeness and firm resistance, much like declining an offer of unsweetened iced tea. So, while the idea might make for amusing banter, it's best left in the realm of satire, eh?
